The David Gilmour Guitar Collection – Christie's Auction Catalogue (Ovation Guitar Sections)

2019 US

This document consists of selected pages from Christie's auction catalogue for The David Gilmour Guitar Collection, sold in New York on June 20, 2019. The pages focus on a group of Ovation guitars owned and used by David Gilmour and Pink Floyd, including acoustic-electric, nylon-string, and solid-body electric models purchased primarily from Ovation Instruments, Inc. in New Hartford, Connecticut between 1975 and 1978. Notable highlights include the hi-strung Ovation Custom Legend used to write and record the original demo of 'Comfortably Numb,' as well as instruments used on Pink Floyd tours supporting 'Animals,' 'The Wall,' and various solo projects.
