Guitar Bridge and Tailpiece

Patent for a combined bridge and tailpiece for guitars featuring a base member with an elongated bridge strip and a reinforcing strip of metal inset in the rear surface. The bridge strip projects from the forward surface perpendicular to the strings. The reinforcing member prevents splitting and cracking of the base member caused by string tension forces acting on the string openings. Designed for use with 12-string guitars. Filed October 27, 1969; patented February 16, 1971.
