Ovation OP-24+ Guitar Preamp
1995
The Ovation OP-24+ was introduced in 1995 as a modernized successor to the original 1980s OP-24. It features a high-fidelity circuit with a 3-band EQ, a Mid-Shift switch (400 Hz/1 kHz), and a "Pre-Shape" button for enhanced tonal depth. Designed to be ultra-quiet, it became a staple on mid-to-high-end models like the Standard Balladeer and Legend. The unit offers an EQ bypass switch for a pure acoustic signal and includes a battery status LED. Its professional-grade performance and ease of use solidified Ovation's reputation in the acoustic-electric market. Later versions, like the OP-24+C, even added a built-in digital tuner for added convenience.
