Ovation Celebrity 2 Knobs Preamp FET-3

The Ovation Celebrity 2-Knob Preamp (often referred to as the FET-3) was introduced around 1985 for the early Celebrity series. This streamlined system features a minimalist design with two primary rotary controls: Volume and Tone. It was designed to offer players a "plug-and-play" experience without the complexity of multi-band sliders found on higher-end models. ​The Tone knob acts as a passive-style filter, rolling off high frequencies to soften the piezo's natural "quack." Despite its simplicity, it is praised for its durability and the warm, analog character of its FET circuitry. This preamp helped democratize the Ovation sound, making it accessible to gigging musicians on a budget. Today, it is considered a vintage staple of the mid-80s Korean-made Celebrity line.
