Ovation Tangent MOB - Acoustic Guitar Mag Review

Year: 2003

This is a gear review article from the October 2003 issue of Acoustic Guitar magazine, authored by Teja Gerken, comparing two hybrid acoustic guitars that combine composite materials with traditional wood construction. The Ovation Tangent MOB ($799.50) features a synthetic bowl back with a laminated spruce top and ocean blue finish, while the RainSong P-MJ1000 ($1,332) uses a carbon fiber top with traditional wooden back, sides, and neck. Both instruments are evaluated for their playability, tone, and electronics, with the reviewer concluding that each offers a unique approach to modern acoustic guitar construction.
