Ovation Guitar Roland Synth Controller Installation Project Documentation

Year: 1995

This is an internal engineering and production document collection from Ovation/Kaman Music Corporation detailing the development and installation of Roland GKT-2 synthesizer controller hardware into Ovation acoustic guitars during 1994-1995. The documents include memos, technical diagrams, wiring schematics, cost sheets, routing procedures, and correspondence between Ovation engineers (W. Vassilopoulos, Bill Hudak, Don Johnson) and Roland Corporation representatives. The project involved integrating Roland's hex magnetic pickup, switching module, 13-pin connector, and associated electronics into Ovation's acoustic-electric guitar bodies as part of a joint venture partnership with Roland, Fender, and Godin.
