2010 Ovation Elite 2078-LE-AS Ltd Edition #37

Year: 2010

Ovation Elite 2078-LE-AS Ltd Edition #37. Many Thanks to Thierry Guillaumot from France for these very nice photos From Ovation Website: "Handcrafted in Ovation’s flagship workshop in New Hartford, Connecticut, the new Limited Edition Adirondack Elite honors the company’s long tradition of building innovative American guitars. This collectable instrument boasts an Adirondack spruce soundboard and striking soundhole decorations made of American walnut, cherry, oak, and hickory. And for the first time, Ovation’s luthiers are making the Limited Edition model’s signature 5-piece neck from walnut with oak and cherry center laminations. Other features of this remarkable guitar include a Contour Bowl composite body, which maximizes acoustic output and is ergonomically designed for comfort in any playing position, a walnut fretboard with cherry inlays, a cherry peghead overlay, walnut body binding, and Ovation’s acclaimed OP-Pro Studio preamp. Only 50 of these guitars will be offered in early 2010. Each Limited Edition Adirondack Elite 2078LE comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. (2010)

Ovation 1995 Collector's

Year: 1995

The Ovation 1995 Collector's Series is a standout entry in the brand's legendary annual limited-run tradition. This specific year was defined by a shift toward more traditional aesthetics blended with Ovation's signature high-tech build. Here is a detailed breakdown of its specifications and character: ## Aesthetic and Build The 1995 model is immediately recognizable by its Mid-Depth Bowl, which offers a balance between the projection of a deep bowl and the comfort of a super-shallow one. Top Material: Solid Sitka Spruce (AA Grade), known for its clarity and dynamic range. Finish: A striking Burnt Orange finish (often described as a warm, reddish-amber sunburst). The Rosette: Instead of the multi-soundhole "leaf" design, it features a traditional center soundhole adorned with a unique 1995-exclusive Oak Leaf rosette made of abalone and wood. Fingerboard: Select Ebony with a custom "1995" inlay at the 12th fret. ## Hardware and Electronics During the mid-90s, Ovation was at the forefront of acoustic-electric technology. This model was designed to perform brilliantly on stage. Preamp: Equipped with the OptiMax system. This was a sophisticated setup for the time, combining an under-saddle pickup with an internal microphone. Controls: It features a blend knob to dial in the "air" from the microphone and the "punch" from the piezo, along with a 3-band EQ. Tuners: Gold-plated die-cast tuners with pearloid buttons for a premium look. ## Sound Profile Unplugged: Thanks to the Mid-Depth body, it has a punchy, focused midrange and a surprisingly warm bottom end for a composite-back guitar. Plugged In: This is where the 1995 Collector’s truly shines. The dual-source OptiMax system minimizes the "quack" often associated with 90s piezo pickups, providing a more natural, "woody" tone. Many Thanks to Henri Milliex from France for these nice photos.
