Ovation S771D Balladeer Special & 4861 Balladeer Review - Guitar Mag

A detailed review from a UK guitar magazine covering two Ovation electro-acoustic guitars: the US-made S771D Balladeer Special (RRP £769) featuring a solid spruce top with satin lacquer finish, and the Korean-made 4861 Balladeer (RRP £599) with a shallow bowlback design. Both guitars feature the OP-24+ preamp system and are evaluated for their acoustic and amplified performance, construction quality, and value for money. The review concludes that the Balladeer Special is a standout instrument while the 4861 offers cost-effective versatility in the Balladeer lineup.
