Ovation 1989-8 Collector's Series Review - Guitar Player Magazine

This is a product review from the January 1990 issue of Guitar Player magazine, written by Roger Sadowsky, covering the Ovation 1989-8 Collector's Series super-shallow cutaway acoustic guitar. The review details the guitar's vital statistics including its $1,299.00 retail price, Lyracord super-shallow bowl, ebony fingerboard, and OP24 piezoelectric pickup system, noting its excellent upper-register access via the 16th-fret neck joint as its greatest strength and its excessively thick neck as its primary weakness. The document also includes a manufacturer's response from Ovation's David Bergstrom and appears alongside a cover feature on guitarist Johnny Marr.
