"VIP stands for Virtual Image Processing and is Ovation’s first and remarkably successful foray into DSP-based acoustic sound modeling. A sound image is created using top-shelf guitars and studio gear and then stored in the DSP banks of the VIP. As you play, the VIP takes the signal from the under-saddle pickup and blends it with the stored guitar image, so you get the output of a guitar recorded with high-fidelity gear in an optimal acoustic space."
