6 drawings
Japanese patent application for a stringed instrument featuring a stiffener and tension rod system to reinforce the neck-to-body connection. The design uses an elongated stiffener fixed along the neck, tongue pieces that insert into a recess at the top of the body, flanges for secure mating to the body outer surface, and a tension rod threaded through the stiffener to apply compressive force that bends and holds the stiffener tightly against the body. Includes a block at the body top for screw-fastening. Priority claimed from US application 905271 filed May 15, 1978.
