Neck Construction / Stiffener Bar
7 drawings
Adjustable stiffened neck construction for guitars featuring an embedded metallic stiffener with tension rod. The neck assembly includes a main neck part with a longitudinal groove receiving a cast aluminum or magnesium stiffener, overlaid by a fingerboard. A steel tension rod runs through the stiffener with an adjustment nut to compensate for string bending forces. The design provides a highly sensitive and responsive neck adjustment system and a sound, rigid connection between neck and body via a rearwardly extending heel clamped to the bowl block.
