Patent for Ovation guitar construction with an innovative soundboard bracing arrangement. Features a one-piece curved fiberglass bowl body with a flat wooden soundboard. The bracing consists of two main braces (top and bottom) arranged obliquely to the soundboard center line, forming a V-shape pattern, with multiple fan braces spaced transversely between them. This arrangement causes the soundboard to resonate at a large number of different frequencies across the full audible range, producing a fuller, richer tone. Includes variations for both folk-style and classic-style guitars. Filed June 8, 1970; patented April 18, 1972.
