Ovation Guitar Construction 1967 Patent

Foundational Ovation guitar construction patent describing a guitar with a soundbox made from impregnated fabric (fiberglass) body and a thin wooden soundboard. The bowl-shaped body is made from plies of glass fabric pre-impregnated with epoxy resin. Features a tapered soundboard providing maximum strength at the neck joint while allowing vibration freedom at lower bout, wooden bracing ribs, L-shaped profile for body-soundboard connection, and an adjustable neck tension rod within a curved bore to compensate for string tension. Includes non-skid surface area on the body. Filed January 27, 1967; patented October 28, 1969.
