Description: Ovation “Book” Elite 1768-LTD (Customized) A beautiful, refurbished Ovation “Book” Elite 1768-LTD. This guitar had been damaged in shipping and was sent to the factory in New Hartford, Connecticut for repairs. The owner decided to forego cleating the crack in the soundboard and elected to replace the top (which includes replacing the bowl). He also decided to have the factory customize the original configuration by replacing the standard walnut bridge with a carved ebony bridge,which had the added benefit of not being bolted to the soundboard like the original. This modification results in greater sustain as the instrument is played. The neck was modified slightly by having the “hand-rubbed urethane” finish redone in a gloss. Finally, the pearloid tuning buttons were replaced with ones made from buffalo horn. |
